Moment-Is Blog http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog Real Life Trumps Beach Life - Every Time http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/real-life-trumps-beach-life-every-time Have you ever played bridge?  When the players finish bidding they arrive at a suit that is called trump.  Trump suits win every time, no matter if you have the highest card in the deck.  What I noticed this last week is that Real Life held the trump card over my musings on the beach.

It is amazing how I was so clear and focused about what I wanted to do when sitting on the beach with my broader perspective of  life.  When I got home to the real world, the greatest plans to connect and write about my experiences fell by the wayside. That is my truth.

My life has been awesome and fulfilling but alas, I did not carry through on the writing of my experiences as I promised. I am giving myself permission to tell the truth about not doing what I said I was going to do and will find the silver lining in what I have been doing.

Where have I been

Day 8 - Easier Said than Done http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/day-8-easier-said-than-done Have you ever had one of those days that life is great, you are in your groove, you are on top of the world then all of a sudden you are racing around like a chicken with its head cut off?
Well that describes me during the last two days.

As I began work on Day 6 I was quite encouraged about how grounded I was and how well I was doing with "Living in the Moment".  I meditated for 20 minutes and felt amazing. I worked with two great coaching clients in the morning.  We did some PSYCH-K and shifting of subconscious beliefs, visualizations and goal setting, and released some emotional blocks.  I was in the flow, living in the moment, breathing, connecting with my inner self then bham!!  Things changed.

Day 5 - Back to the Real World http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/day-5-back-to-the-real-world Getting back to the real world after being on vacation can be a rude awakening.  As I travelled back from Maui with it's sun, sand and surf, I felt an incredible sense of gratitude for all that I have in my life.  Living in the moment was easy to do as I took in my last day of Paradise with my family.  I did not keep notes for my blog as I decided to let let days 3 and 4 go unrecorded.  As a brief summary, they were amazing.  We had a beautiful last day, travelled the island to take in some different sites on our way to the airport.

Flying all night to get back home was a little exhausting and when I walked into the house and saw the stack of mail and emails I needed to deal with I felt a little overwhelmed.  However, I set up a plan and a strategy for how I wanted this week to go.  I feel ready to get back to the real world.

Living in the Moment is more challenging to do in the real

Day 2 - Living in the Moment or Trying To http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/day-2-living-in-the-moment-or-trying-to  Day 2 - Living in the Moment is easier for me when I am on vacation..  There are no plans, no schedules.  Just being able to be with the fresh ocean air, the blue skies and the sensations that are going on in my body keeps me grounded in the present moment.

Did I keep my commitment to tuning into my body with my breath a minimum of 8 times during the day?

I am now asking myself, why did I commit to doing this?

Day 1 - Walking the Talk http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/day-1-walking-the-talk
So here I am Day 1 of my 21 day commitment to "Tuning into my body with my breath a minimum of 8 times during my waking hours".

As I write this Day 1 blog, I feel a little exposed.  Telling the truth about how I am trying to walk the talk on the content that I know so well is a bit scary.  What happens if people think I am a fraud?  Here I am sharing tools and techniques to help people stay grounded and connected with their "in the moment" experiences and I am struggling to achieve this myself.  But, I committed to telling the truth so here we go.

Did I follow through on my commitment?

4 Steps to Achieving Vibrant Physical Health http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/4-steps-to-achieving-vibrant-physical-health Taking care of your physical health is something that has been written about in a multitude of ways so I am not going to try and rehash what the “experts” say you need to do. What I do know however is that taking care of me is sometimes easier said than done.   It can be a long, frustrating and lonely journey insuring that I do the things that I know help me to feel better.  I want this to change.  I want to take the steps I need to make sure that I am living the life I want.  So I am using this blog to do just that.

What I want to do through this blog is to test my belief: Change can happen slowly with the following 4 steps:
  1. Setting the intention
  2. Developing a strategy
  3. Creating a plan
  4. Telling the truth about what is working and what is not

What Do You Want Your Life to Look Like? http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/what-do-you-want-your-life-to-look-like  If you were to sit back today and take stock of your whole life, how are you doing? Take some time and look at the following categories. Write a list of the things you would like to complete in each of these areas. This list is not meant to stress you out but to bring into your conscious awareness the things in your life that you know need some attention. By being more aware of these areas, you can then set up a plan of what you can do to take care of them day by day.

7 Reasons to Change Only One Habit at a Time http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/7-reasons-to-change-only-one-habit-at-a-time  When you look at your whole life, do you feel you need a major overhaul or just need a minor tune up?
For those of you who feel a major overhaul is in order, the tendency is to try and fix your whole life all at once. For a variety of reasons those who approach changing more than one habit or circumstance at a time, are often unsuccessful in achieving their goals.

Here are 7 reasons to change just ONE Habit at a time.

Keeping your New Year's Resolutions - One Moment at a Time http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/keeping-your-new-years-resolutions-one-moment-at-a-time Many of us make New Year’s Resolutions on January 1st then turn around and break them a week later.  People put pressure on themselves to change all of their bad habits at once, hoping that the New Year will bring in a New Resolve to make all the changes happen. This often fails however, as there is little thought put into how to create changes that are both positive and that can last.

With some soul searching and some planning this year, you can come closer to creating the changes you want in your life.

Doing the Holiday Season Differently http://www.clareconsulting.com/blog/doing-the-holiday-season-differently

Are you ready to let go of doing what you think you should do and really do what you want this Holiday season?

For this blog I will use “Christmas” as it is what I know and what all of my expectations are around.

How many of you look forward to the holiday season with a sense of dread? There is so much to do, so many expectations, and so little time that the intention of the season seems to get lost in the mayhem. What I want to offer you here is a chance to do Christmas differently. If you are like many people (moms especially) the desire to have Christmas be an intimate, memorable and family bonding time is very strong. The season is full of anticipation and expectations as planning begins early and holiday wishes are expressed.
