Finding inner peace

What a concept!
What percentage of your day do you feel a sense of inner peace?
Do you find that some days the expectations you carry and the demands on your time are so huge that the disconnection between what you need to do, and want you want to do is overwhelming?
If your answer to this is yes then you are not alone.
A few years ago, I was at the top of my game.
- I had the job I had been working towards for years.
- My family was in great shape (or so I thought so),
- my financial situation was healthy and
- I looked like I “had it all”.
BUT, on the inside,
- I was not happy.
- I was unhealthy,
- I was cranky and
- I was exhausted from trying to do it all, have it all and be it all.
The day I ended up telling my boss that she could take the job and @!#%….., I realized I had reached my breaking point.
I realized I was letting the stress and overwhelm that I was experiencing in my life rob me of my inner peace.
I knew that ultimately, I wanted to take control of my life and find a new way of being.
Thus began my journey of creating less stress and more peace in my life.
This did not happen overnight, but with a series of small action steps that helped me tune into my body, mind and emotions to shift how I responded to the things that came up in my life.
The most common misconception about stress is that it is something on the outside of you that needs to change. Though this is true on one hand, it is not true on the deepest level.
The things that happen in our day to day lives happen, many of them are outside of our control.
All we can control is how we respond to these events.
EASIER SAID than DONE? Absolutely, but it can be done with small action steps.

Wouldn’t you love to know how to respond in the best way possible to the stresses in your life? Imagine how you would feel if you took control of your reactions and responded calmly and confidently to things that came up.

Gerrianne,
I so appreciate your honesty about being unhappy on the inside even when everything 'looked' perfect. It is pretty stressful to hold illusions together. I so agree that everything occurring is actually about who we are on the inside so yes, to calm myself with breath would make such an impact in my life.
Thanks and love,
Farhana

Hi Farhana,
Thanks for the comment. The breath is so vital to us each and every day and so underutilized as a tool to calm us down.
I think the planet would be a much happier place if people would stop to take a few deep breaths before they spoke. Their response would then come from a calmer perspective. Imagine how much that would change how we interact
Take care and much love
